The Virtual Three Peaks Challenge
From February Half Term the PE department invited our students and their families to participate in the Staffordshire Virtual 3 Peaks Challenge.
The challenge was a School Games initiative and was offered to every school child in the county. Students (and their families) were asked to record their distance, each time they walked or ran, in the hope that they would reach the 26 mile total that it would take to walk up the three highest Peaks in England, Wales and Scotland.
The value of walking, especially with family, has been elevated during the last 12 months, not only in a bid to remain physically fit but also as a means to promote good mental health and positive wellbeing.
We are so proud of the response from our students; as always, they have been amazing. Some have taken up the challenge through walking and others have found a love of running – all have engaged in the challenge, even after learning returned to the classroom our students have continued to meet the challenge.
Thank you and congratulations to everyone that completed the 26 miles!
If you haven’t provided your evidence yet please feel free to email your PE teacher and a certificate will be awarded to you.
